Introduction of operational climate adaptation management in accordance with ISO 14090/ 14091

Training: Managing climate risks and climate impacts systematically

Why climate adaptation management?

Climate impacts such as heat, heavy rain or supply shortages have long been a reality - and affect many areas of a company. Recognising risks and deploying resources in a targeted manner requires more than individual measures: It requires a structured approach to climate risks.

This is exactly what climate adaptation management offers.
It helps to focus on affected areas of the company - from purchasing, facilities and infrastructure through to finance and risk management - at an early stage and make them future-proof.

A central element is the company-specific risk analysis:
Experts from different areas - such as technology, human resources, administration or finance - jointly assess which climate risks are particularly relevant. Based on data, scenarios and assessments, targeted measures can be developed to increase resilience and plan investments with the necessary foresight.

Our course shows how climate adaptation can be strategically thought through, planned in a structured way and practically implemented.

Course structure and content

The course structure follows the structure of management systems (High Level Structure) in such a way that the topic of climate adaptation can be integrated into existing management systems or implemented for the first time. The training is based on the ISO guidelines 14090 & 14091 and makes reference to the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) at the relevant points. In this way, the basis for the CSRD can be created without being based on its requirements.

Blended-Learning

The course combines self-study phases (e-learning) and attendance phases (web seminars). This enables you to learn at your own pace and at a time that suits you. The web seminars follow on from the self-study phases and serve to apply what you have learnt in practice using case studies.

E-Learning Module

Six thematically consecutive e-learning modules teach you step by step how to introduce a climate adaptation management system or expand existing management systems. The focus is placed on carrying out a risk analysis and deriving measures to reduce the negative consequences.

Content: Basics of (climate adaptation) management systems, types of climate impacts, organisation of internal processes & structures, climate risk analysis and adaptation measures.
Multi-media mix: Video contributions with experts provide insights into practice.
Self-test: You can test your acquired knowledge in a final quiz after each module.
Duration: 45-90 minutes per module, sent out 3-4 weeks before the subsequent web seminars.

Virtual classroom

You can participate in web seminars with an online presence from anywhere. A maximum group size of 10 participants offers the opportunity to exchange ideas and network. In addition, the knowledge learnt is reflected upon, discussed and applied. Depending on the number of registrations, we will attempt to form meaningful groups according to sector, field of activity and level of knowledge.

Content: Clarification of questions about the e-learning content, exchange and discussion, applying what has been learnt in practice-oriented case studies

Multi-media mix: use of various online tools and working in groups.

Duration: 4-5 hours per web seminar (2 dates), each following the e-learning sessions

Training documents

You will receive practical templates and tools to enable you to apply what you have learned directly in your company or organisation.

Content: Excel tool for carrying out your climate risk analysis and creating your programme of measures. Checklist with the requirements of ISO 14090.

Course fees: € 890.00 (plus VAT)
